that's how i began taking photos when i was a kid...being a fly on the wall so to speak. many of my favorite moments i capture at weddings are those that happened when no know knew i was looking.  or moments that happened because my subjects felt at ease in front of my camera.  that is my ultimate goal...to put you at ease so that i may document you and your guests as honestly as possible.  in this gallery you will find many of my current favorite images that capture that very spirit...

whether we hit the streets of rome, santa barbara, chicago, or somewhere in-between we do so with one thing in mind...having fun while we get to know each other. engagement sessions, like any of my other sessions [including your wedding day] will never feel stiff or boring.  it is my aim to make you feel relaxed while we capture you and your love enjoying each other's company. and it's always a plus to get some awesome photos to fill the walls in your home that do not involve your wedding attire.

the details you slaved away at [or commissioned others to do so for you].  to me the details help tell the story of your day through textures, color, design. flavors, mood, atmosphere, architecture, fashion, heirlooms and beyond.

the number one question i get is, "do we do the first look or not?".  as a bride i opted out of the first look [actually, when i got married i had never really even heard of a first look].  the first look is a moment to see your mister or misses before the ceremony...some say to calm their nerves, others to get all of the photos completed prior to the ceremony so they can enjoy the party, and others because they just can't wait...  whatever your reason, the first look is very important to me.  it is a private, quiet moment between you and your love and this is something i do not take lightly.  i want to capture the honesty, excitement, and love in this moment in a strictly photojournalistic manner [no direction shouted at you] simply letting you and your special person be together, in love, before the day sweeps you away.

hair, makeup, jewelry, bow ties [youtube bow tie tutorials]...all things that encompass the anticipation and excitement of getting ready.  one of my favorite parts of the day.  i get to pay witness to the transformations, laughter, tears, last minute advice, and beautiful nervousness that take place in childhood bedrooms, air bnb's, or hotel suites around the globe.  in this gallery you will find my documentation of these moments as they unfold; and a few final result portraits too...
